Classes and Curriculum
Training is conducted in a relaxed atmosphere. The basic training program consists of forms, drills, and conditioning. This offers a route to attaining competence in empty-hand kung fu and preparation for advanced training.
The empty-hand curriculum consists of three principle forms: Siu Nim Tao (Beginning Idea), Chum Kiu (Seeking the Bridge), and Biu Jee (Standard Compass) along with a series of two-person drills. Students typically become proficient in the empty-hand forms in about two years marking expertise in the fundamentals of Ving Tsun. Advanced training includes Muk Yan Jong (Wooden Dummy), Luk Dim Poon Kwan (6 1/2 Point Pole), and Bot Chom Doa (Eight Way Chopping Knives).
Training takes place in the lower level of The Landmark Center, 500 E Court St. in Viroqua. Classes are held from 6:30 - 8:00 PM on Monday and Wednesday evenings and on Saturdays from 10:00 - 11:30 AM.
